Flexible Cure Ink

Flexible Cure Ink is a UV-curable formulation made for print jobs that need a cured film with more give and less cracking under bend or handling. It suits signage, graphics and packaging work where adhesion, clean curing and practical printer compatibility matter from the first run.

Flexible Cure Ink

A UV ink made for bend, handling and daily use

Flexible Cure Ink is formulated for applications where the printed surface may be rolled, trimmed, wrapped or handled often after curing. It is used on suitably prepared substrates where a harder brittle ink can crack at edges, on folds or when the print is flexed during fitting. The cured film is designed to hold colour while allowing a degree of movement, which makes it a useful option for many flatbed and roll-to-roll production setups.

As with any UV-curable ink, the result depends on the full process, not only the bottle. Lamp output, pass speed, layer thickness, substrate surface energy and pretreatment all affect curing and adhesion. We assist with compatibility checks so you can match the ink to the printer configuration and the job at hand.

  • Suitable for flexible cured ink film requirements
  • Supports detailed graphics and solid areas
  • Works best when curing is set correctly for the media
  • Useful where post-print handling is part of the workflow

Where this ink fits in production

This product suits shops producing signage panels, point of sale work, short-run packaging components, display graphics and other output that needs a practical balance of adhesion and flexibility. It is often considered for jobs that are later folded, mounted or fitted in environments with temperature changes, coastal humidity or regular handling. For Cape Town, Durban and Gqeberha where moisture can affect storage and substrate stability, proper handling before and after printing matters.

Flexible Cure Ink is not a one size answer. Some rigid boards need a different formulation, while some plastics and coated sheets need surface testing before a run starts. We recommend trial prints where possible, especially for new substrates or where the finished item will be bent, trimmed close to the image edge or used outdoors.

  • Signage and display panels
  • Packaging samples and short production runs
  • Flexible graphics and wrapped items
  • Jobs needing better resistance to cracking on movement

Sizes, supply options and ordering details

We supply Flexible Cure Ink through our Epping, Cape Town base with We courier UV ink to Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Pretoria, Gqeberha and other centres. Packaging options may vary by order, but the usual approach is to supply practical working volumes for shop-floor use and safe storage.

When ordering, tell us the printer type, the substrate, the colour set you use and whether the job is on a flatbed or roll-to-roll machine. That helps with compatibility checks and with sample pack prep where a test is needed before full production. If you are matching an existing workflow, include the current cure settings, print speed and whether you use a primer or pretreatment step.

  • Available for flatbed and roll-to-roll systems
  • Suitable for trial packs and production supply
  • Courier stock support for towns and cities nationwide
  • Repeat ordering can be planned around your usage

Printer compatibility, curing and setup checks

Flexible UV inks need the right balance of light exposure and print settings to cure properly without becoming too brittle. Some machines need a pass speed adjustment, others need lamp intensity changes or better ventilation around the print area. If the ink is under-cured, adhesion can suffer and the print may mark easily. If it is over-cured, flexibility can drop and edge cracking may show on bends or during trimming.

We help with curing guidance and remote tech help for common setup issues. That may include checking whether the substrate is clean, whether the print head height is correct, and whether your operator is maintaining the recommended workflow. For many shops, a simple operator training session prevents waste and keeps prints more consistent. Do not guess on settings when changing media, because a small shift can affect the full batch.

  • Check lamp output and curing distance
  • Confirm head height and substrate flatness
  • Keep the print area free of dust and oil
  • Test a small sample before full production

Care, storage and safe handling on the shop floor

Like other UV-curable inks, this product should be stored in a cool dry place away from direct sun and heat. Keep lids closed between use and avoid contamination from mixed tools or dirty funnels. In South African workshops, especially near the coast or in humid storage rooms, moisture and heat can shorten usable shelf life if containers are not managed properly.

Always follow the safety data sheet and wear gloves when handling the ink, cleaning spills or filling reservoirs. Good housekeeping matters for both safety and output quality. A few minutes spent checking can save a costly reprint.

  • Store sealed, cool and out of direct light
  • Use clean tools and avoid cross contamination
  • Follow the safety data sheet at all times
  • Wear gloves during handling and clean-up

Before you order ink

Before you order Flexible Cure Ink, check the substrate type, the printer model, the curing system and the final use of the printed item. If the print will be folded, wrapped or installed in a warm area, tell us upfront. That helps us advise on adhesion testing and whether a sample pack is the best first step. We also ask whether you need colour trial support, production planning or training for new operators.

Our team in Epping works with businesses across Bellville, Paarl, the Cape Town metro and further afield through courier delivery. Michael van Wyk leads the business, with support from Lindiwe Maseko, Hennie Opperman, Shanaaz Allie, Moagi Shirinda, Nadine Motaung and Thabo Steyn. Clients get practical help from product selection through to after-sales support, without unnecessary fuss. Ink questions

What makes Flexible Cure Ink different from standard UV ink?

It is formulated to leave a cured film with more flexibility, which helps on jobs that are bent, trimmed or handled often after printing.

Can this ink be used on any printer or substrate?

No. Compatibility depends on the printer, curing setup and media surface. A test print and adhesion check are recommended before full production.
