We supply UV-curable inks for printers used on signage, display graphics, packaging, boards, panels, and a wide range of specialty jobs. UV inks cure under UV light, which means the printed film is set quickly and can support faster handling than many conventional systems. That matters when jobs are moving through a busy shop and there is no time for long drying racks or extra waiting around.
The right ink choice depends on the printer setup, the substrate and the job spec. Some materials need stronger adhesion, others need better flexibility, and some need careful curing so the print is not under-cured or over-cured. We help clients compare options for flatbed and roll-to-roll work, then guide the print process so the finished result stays consistent from first sheet to last metre.
- Ink selection for flatbed and roll-to-roll printers
- Compatibility checks for common rigid and flexible media
- Adhesion testing on selected materials before production
- Curing guidance for correct lamp settings and pass speed
Curing, adhesion and safe handling
UV printing can look simple from the outside, but good results come from getting the small things right. Ink that cures too lightly may scuff, smear or lose grip on the surface. Ink that is not matched to the printer or media can cause headaches with adhesion, colour shift or cleaning problems. That is why we speak plainly about compatibility, curing and substrate prep before the job starts, not after the fault shows up on the press.
We also remind customers to follow the safety data sheet for the product they are using and to wear gloves when handling ink or cleaning materials. Safe handling is part of production, especially when staff are working long shifts or changing over jobs quickly. A short briefing for the operator can prevent waste, keep hands clean and reduce mistakes around storage, mixing and disposal.
- Adhesion testing on test pieces before production runs
- Remote tech help for printer setup and workflow questions
- Safe handling briefing for new staff or changing shifts
- Repeat order management to keep the same spec on file
Printer Compatibility
UV Ink supplies UV-curable inks selected for common flatbed and roll-to-roll printer configurations, with guidance on matching ink behaviour to printhead, substrate and curing setup.
Reliable Curing
We help customers understand how UV curing affects surface finish, flexibility and handling so prints can leave the machine properly cured and ready for the next production step.
Strong Adhesion
Different materials need different approaches to surface energy, cleaning and testing, and we support customers with practical advice for improved adhesion on rigid and flexible media.
Safe Handling
UV-curable inks should be handled with care, and we always remind users to follow the safety data sheet, use suitable PPE and wear gloves when working with ink.

Our customers include print shops, signage installers, display producers, packaging teams and production managers who need dependable supply and practical support. Some jobs are for indoor display work, others need better weather resistance or tougher handling on site. In Cape Town, Durban and other coastal areas, humidity can affect how a job behaves after printing, so material choice and curing discipline matter. In inland areas like Johannesburg and Pretoria, temperature shifts and production pace can raise different questions.
We work with teams that need clear advice, not guesswork. If your operator wants to know whether a substrate will accept UV ink, whether a primer is needed, or how long to leave a job before stacking, we can talk through the process and help you test it properly. We also assist with colour trial support and sample pack prep so you can check the finish before a larger run goes into production.
- Colour trial support for new jobs and repeat work
- Sample pack preparation for material testing
- Production planning for short runs and higher volume work
- Operator training for safe use and better day-to-day handling

The first litres from Epping
From a small unit in Epping, Michael van Wyk heard the same question from sign shops buying their first flatbed: will this ink stick to the board, and will it crack when the job bends? UV Ink stocks ink sets tried on local media and records what works. Testing before selling still guides the business.
Lindiwe Maseko looks after sales, and Hennie Opperman runs technical support, often with test prints on the customer's own media. Shanaaz Allie keeps operations steady, Moagi Shirinda dispatches from Epping, Nadine Motaung answers customers and Thabo Steyn shows operators how to set up and look after a new ink set.

Test first, then run the order
If the first test is done properly, the next order is easier. If a colour trial shows a better match on a particular substrate, the job goes smoother. If the courier stock arrives when it should, the team keeps working instead of waiting for material to arrive.
We aim to support the full process, from ink selection through to repeat order management. That includes helping with production planning, advising on curing settings, and giving practical feedback when a printer needs a second look. Clients in signage, graphics and packaging often need help with changing substrates, tighter turnarounds and seasonal demand, and they value a supplier who can keep up without overcomplicating the job.
When you need UV-curable inks for flatbed or roll-to-roll printing, and you want straightforward support from a South African team that understands the day-to-day realities of print production, UV Ink is ready to help.
